Moonbooks Plans for Winter Season!

While I had begun teaching in summer of this year I and was able to teach over 168 students I was quickly unable to find time during the school season and had to officially end the first of our lessons which were

This past summer, I had the privilege of teaching three different classes that each offered unique experiences. My summer program introduced many students to analytical writing, while my core Writing to Publishing class allowed us to explore creative techniques and storytelling—a class I’ve shared many memorable experiences with in past entries. Additionally, I taught my ESL students, for whom I published a specialized workbook, which they eagerly embraced. However, as the school year began, my own academic commitments meant I’d have to pause these classes temporarily. Though the summer program concluded, I’m thrilled to announce that in the next two to three weeks, I’ll be reopening these lessons for my students.

After the summer program ended, I was overwhelmed by the positive feedback from students who enjoyed the lessons and expressed how much they missed our weekly sessions. Their responses strengthened my resolve to return with even more engaging activities and resources to help them build on the skills we’ve worked on together. For example, in our English Smart Start ESL class, I integrated board games and educational activities into our lessons, including customized games like Hangman and Scrabble on my website. These games not only made learning fun but also created a lively, interactive environment that I could see my students enjoying and benefiting from. This winter, I’m looking forward to creating more workbooks, educational games, and resources to keep their progress on track and inspire them to explore their interests.

I’m particularly excited to reconnect with my Writing to Publishing students, who range from middle school to high school. In our previous sessions, we transitioned from writing personal memoirs to tackling genres like science fiction, mystery, and horror. Their enthusiasm made it rewarding, and I’m thrilled to expand this exploration further. Interestingly, while teaching these genres to my students, I was also studying similar themes, such as Frankenstein and The Metamorphosis, in my own academic coursework. I’m excited to simplify and share these insights with my students, equipping them to analyze and enjoy these complex themes.

For the upcoming sessions, my aim is to continue building an engaging and nurturing environment that supports each student's unique learning journey. Many of my students have shown a strong sense of determination to make a difference in the world, and I’m committed to helping them achieve their goals through creative expression and critical thinking. With their unique perspectives and dedication, I believe they can indeed make a lasting impact. As we look forward to the winter session, I’m passionate about fostering their growth and excited to see where their learning and creativity will take them next. Teaching for their future is my greatest motivation, and I’m eager to continue building on the foundation we’ve laid together.
